BOARD-DESIGNATED SUSTAINABILITY

In February 2021, Peace Haven opened the doors of its new Christian Science nursing facility. This new facility replaced the one Peace Haven had occupied for nearly 70 years. It offers amenities that help our Christian Science nurses provide the highest quality care to patients, all who are relying wholly on Christian Science for healing.

 

Knowing the importance of maintaining quality Christian Science nursing as provided for in the “Christian Science Nurse” By-Law (Manual of The Mother Church, Article 8, Section 31), Peace Haven’s Board has established a Sustainability Fund to help support Peace Haven’s viability and offer long-term sustainability.

 

Purpose: The Board-Designated Sustainability Fund is designed to provide for long-term needs above and beyond standard annual operating expenses, including covering future building and grounds repairs; helping with replacement, additions, or needed restructuring; maintaining competitive salaries, retirement plans, and other  benefits for Peace Haven’s dedicated staff; sustaining Christian Science nurses’ training opportunities (e.g., student tuition, room and board, travel expenses), and more. All Fund withdrawals, and their intended purposes, must be approved by a majority vote of the Peace Haven Board of Trustees.

 

This fund is managed by a professional investment firm and placed in instruments that reflect the conservative growth and income and value guidelines outlined in Peace Haven’s Financial Investment Policy. 

 

Opportunity: You are invited to support Peace Haven’s Board-Designated Sustainability Fund. Contributions made to the Fund are entirely separate from those used for general operations and should be considered over and above those needed annually for general operations.
